Temple, Texas: The 37th Annual Kiella Cares Golf Classic was hosted at Wildflower Country Club in Temple, Texas, on Monday, October 13th. The event brought together local partners and community members, raising $143,000 in support of the Child Life Program at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Hospital. The event continues to highlight the power of community, generosity, and the shared commitment to caring for the children and families served by our region’s premier pediatric care center.
Since its inception, the Kiella Cares Golf Classic has raised $751,600 to support Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center. Each year, golfers and sponsors from across Central Texas come together with one goal—to make a difference in children’s healthcare.
“Our goal each year is not just to host a tournament, but to rally our community around something greater than ourselves,” said John Kiella, Owner & CEO of Kiella Real Estate Group. “This year’s result is a testament to how deeply people care about the wellbeing of the children in our area.”
This year, proceeds benefit the Child Life Program at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Hospital, a vital initiative dedicated to making hospital stays less stressful and more positive for young patients and their families. The Child Life team includes trained professionals who work alongside doctors, nurses, and social workers to provide comfort, reduce anxiety, and create joyful moments during challenging times.
“My team has volunteered with the Child Life program many times over the years, experiencing firsthand the positive and hopeful impact their support and expertise provide the patients and families receiving care at McLane Children’s,” said Megan Kiella, President of Kiella Homebuilders. “I am humbled and overjoyed each year as our community so generously supports the hospital through our Kiella Cares event. I hope to continue to use our platform to give back to the community that has given us so much.”
Thanks to supporters over past years, Kiella Cares has helped the hospital acquire essential equipment such as EEG machines, transport incubators, and ultrasound devices. With this year’s gift, the Child Life team will be able to expand program offerings, refresh its materials and play spaces, and support more patients and families in critical moments.
As the tournament grows year after year, the Kiella Cares Golf Classic continues to show what can be achieved when a community comes together for a cause that matters. Beyond the funds raised, the event helps shine a light on the incredible work being done at McLane Children’s Medical Center and the ongoing needs of its patients and families. Thanks to this continued support, the hospital can keep providing the compassionate, high-quality care that makes such a difference for children across Central Texas.
This incredible success wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our many partners and sponsors. Their support helped us reach our fundraising goal and make an even greater impact. The Kiella Cares team would like to extend a sincere thank you to the following sponsors starting with our Miracle Sponsors, which serves as our highest donor level, Birdcreek Roofing, Heart of Texas Landscape & Irrigation, and KPA Engineers.
